(I'll try to avoid spoilers) - Mid-July: ADWD comes out. I get hold of an e-copy and check who lives, who dies, and what the Blackfish is up to. Great relief. (SPOILER fans who hate me right now: no way he's dead.) - End of July: I cave and buy the book. - Beginning of August: Tyrion is awesome even depressed. - Something: something. (no really, I'm reading with great attention, even underlying passages and drawing smileys, but Schroedinger's Blackfish has taken out a lot of magic from the whole thing.) - Aug 2: Quentyn: being spoiled, I lack any emotional connection with him. The new characters bore me a bit. I want to see Doran Martell, not these Dornish wannabes. Might change my mind. - Jon: omg, is this LOST, are we in the past now? I feared this effect. Am I the only one who believes something happened off-screen with Melisandre? - Bran: if Coldhands is Benjen, poor Benjen. Still he's rather cool. Haha, pun. - Aug 3: Reek: the transformation of the character is amazing. Still not sure what to feel for him, pity or a sense of retribution. Probably both. I want to see a flashback of Barristan at Baelor's. I want Barristan, period. I've said I don't hate any GRRM character. Now I hate Daario Naharis. I feel he's being forced down our throats. (To be continued. The above was written on the train. Will be improved when I come home and review the first chapters. |
