"Prime" probabilmente si riferisce alla carica, simile a "Comandante." Ahimé, i traduttori italiani tendono a presumere che l'inglese, per non dire il latino, va oltre la comprensione del pubblico (probabilmente non sanno che la gente è capace di andarsi a cercare le cose che non capiscono), così lo hanno tradotto con... un altro termine inglese. 2. Il film è quello che mi ha fatto amare il personaggio. Capisco il fascino di G1, anche se lo trovo complicato da seguire, e TF:A è abbastanza forte. 3. Alcuni obiettano che i Transformers, essendo robot, non hanno genere. In tal caso i vari creatori che hanno dato a Optimus quel corpo, quella voce e quella fidanzata sarebbero un po' confusi. Alcuni obiettano anche che la riproduzione sessuale non ha senso per i Transformers, dato che possono costruirne un altro quando vogliono. Io dico: sono alieni, può succedere di tutto, e è divertente. 4. Difficile definire un equivalente umano, dato che è così facile proiettare su di lui la propria visione. Io vedo Optimus sulla quarantina, le adolescenti tendono a immaginare un ventenne scafato, e così via. I Cybertroniani non dovrebbero invecchiare davvero, dato che possono riparare o sostituire quasi tutte le loro parti; muoiono solo quando la loro "scintilla", o energia vitale, si estingue. Così la loro "età" relativa è espressa attraverso il loro comportamento. Personaggi come Bumblebee sono chiaramente giovani. Optimus è uno dei più esperti del gruppo, non necessariamente il più vecchio; in varie serie Ratchet e Ironhide sono dipinti come più vecchi e irritabili e in TF:A Optimus è un giovane ed inesperto ufficiale. 5. Mentre facevo ricerche, non mi aspettavo di scoprire che Optimus ha un tale seguito femminile, anche se forse meno dei suoi compagni più affascinanti come Bee o Jazz, o i sempre interessanti cattivi. Sadly, Italian translators tend to assume that English, let alone Latin, is beyond the audience's comprehension (they must not be aware that people can actually look up something they don't understand), so they translated it with... yet another English word. 2. The movie was what drew me to the character. I understand the appeal of G1, though I find it complicated to follow, and TF:A is pretty cool. 3. Some argue that Transformers, being robots, are genderless. If so, the various creators who gave Optimus that body, that voice and that girlfriend were a bit confused. Then again, some also argue that sexual reproduction is meaningless for Transformers, since they can just build another one. I say, they are aliens, anything goes, and it's fun. 4. Hard to define a human equivalent, since it is easy to project on him one's vision. I see Optimus in his forties, teenager female fans tend to imagine a world-weary twenty-something, and so on. Cybertronians are not supposed to really grow old, since they can repair or replace most of their parts; they die only when their "spark", or life energy, is extinguished. Thus their relative "age" is expressed through their behaviour. Characters like Bumblebee have clear youthful overtones. Optimus is one of the most experienced in the group, not necessarily the oldest; in various series Ratchet and Ironhide are depicted as older and crankier, and in TF:A he is a young and inexperienced officer. 5. While doing my research, I did not expect to discover he has such a female following, though possibly less than his more glamorous comrades such as Bumblebee or Jazz, or the ever-entertaining bad guys.
