(Scusate, non ce la faccio proprio, e mi sa che ai lettori italiani non frega niente...) | The new story now has a title: "TWO LIVES, ONE NIGHTMARE". It sucks just a tiny bit but I'm getting used to it. Even those who've read "Behind The Mask" (this title is not so hot either, there must be a thousand TF fics out there called like this) might have to think a bit to guess whose lives they are. It could help if you think WHO can be their nightmare. I'm taking another idea from G1 - rain on Cybertron - and running with it. So as I post BTM I might modify something to begin introducing the theme in part 3. I'll also make more corrections (as usual) and the scene at the end of part 2 is HOTTER. 'Nuff said. A thing I changed from the movie. At the end, Bee addresses Prime with extreme respect, "Permission to speak, sir?" while in my story he treats "Opti" like basically an older brother. I do believe that Bee was totally pulling his leg when he said that, and Opti responds calling him "old friend" with a smile in his voice. I think it's not just the relief of hearing him speak, it's like a private joke between them. When I said below that Peter Cullen gave Optimus drama and humour, I forgot maybe the most important part, the real root of the character's success: he made him "human", in the broad sense. A thing that is messy in the "canon" series and movies too: "Prime" is clearly a title - I don't think all those who wear it are related to each other, see Rodimus Prime - but often it's used like a proper name. Megatron yelling "PRRRAAAHHHMMM!" from the top of some building definitely does not mean to address him correctly by rank, or it would be like Khan saying "Hello, Admiral" instead of "KHHHUUURRRKKK!" So I too used it ambiguously. I clearly say it's a title ("Oh, so you two are not married?") but I also used it as a name that can be spoken informally (by Ratch) or sneeringly (by the Decepticons). Speaking of 'Cons, whenever I think of Megatron our black cat comes to mind, the mommy of all our Goths. Apparently they have nothing in common. But I've said already that capturing her has been one of the defining moments of my life, no kidding. When we opened the cat transport after having her fixed, I kept fearing that she'd shrug off the anesthetic and burst out, fur abristle and little teeth bared, screaming in Hugo Weaving's voice "I AM FLUFFY!!!" (Wouldn't have been worse than me pointing my finger at each kitten I catch on my bed and growling "Now it's you and me, Megatron!" *purrr* "At the end of the day one shall stand, one shall fall!" *purrrrrrr* "Spoilsport!") I need to find a different image for Starscream. Movie Screamer is too fugly. Maybe G1 Screamer in grey, since he's suppose to be an F-22. But in the movie almost everybody was black or grey or silver, thus virtually indistinguishable from each other, apart from the two yellow ones and that redneck with the flames... I guess it's our modern taste, because that's happening in my stories too: Ironhide black like the movie, Elita grey and silver, Arcee black and silver. Anyway the Screamer must be light grey, like a ghost - hmmm, I like that - but he must have a humanish face, like Opti. Must... make... drawing... more... wasted... time... I guess I'm also taking liberties with the weapons. In the movie it seems like Opti's sword comes out directly from his arm. In my version I need it to be detachable so he can pass it from one hand to the other, drop it, pick it up, all that swashbuckling stuff! Finally, I've started writing from the end. A battle at last. I'm not too good at writing fights but this is the idea that made me realize I had a plot. Then of course there's the Optimus death scene. Yeah. I've learned it's a staple of all series, so I shouldn't be too worried for the next movie. TF:A did it hilariously. They killed him off in ep ONE, resurrecting him in 30 seconds. "OK, now that this is out of the way let's get to the serious stories." I'm liking that stuff, especially after "Along Came a Spider". That ep made TF *hot*. "Come closer." Mrowr. Can't wait to see where they'll go with that. |
