Il titolo non significa niente ma era carino. L'altra sera mi è venuto un accidente mentre guardavo la TV a casa di amici e mi sono accorta che c'è là fuori un attore che soddisfa i requisiti postati qui sotto e ROVINEREBBE completamente Bryn per me, non per colpa sua, pover'uomo, ma a causa di certe associazioni. Ovvio, magari con la barba e la sua certamente ottima bravura di attore, mi farebbe innamorare ancor di più, come ha fatto Jeff Fahey - Frank Lapidus. Chi lo sa. (Rivelerò l'Attore Che Non Va Nominato dopo che avranno dato la parte di Bryn a qualcuno che non mi terrorizza. Se mai succederà.) Inoltre tendo a sovrapporre la mia immagine del personaggio con l'attore che lo interpreta. Nella mia mente, Lupin è allo stesso tempo il "mio" Lupin e David Thewlis (che è molto simile al "mio" Lupin, a parte gli stupidi baffi, gli stupidi capelli e gli stupidi vestiti - grazie Cuaròn). Succede perfino con i miei personaggi immaginari: ho modellato re Teodorico su Damian Lewis, ma la mia immagine mentale di lui è lievemente diversa. Non saprei dire come, ma vedo qualcuno che è una persona reale, separata dall'attore, come per esempio Mandela e Morgan Freeman. A proposito, non ero così emozionata dai tempi della trilogia di LOTR e la saga cinematografica di HP (che continua, ma non è più così emozionante). Ora devo solo trovare il mio Faramir di ASOIAF... E ce l'avrei già, se solo lo facessero interpretare a qualcuno che mi piace! Non credo che GRRM sbagli a concentrarsi sulla serie TV. Per prima cosa non sappiamo come divide il suo tempo fra ADWD e la serie. E poi potrebbe trovare nuova ispirazione per ADWD. Cioè, se mi dicessero "Facciamo un film dal Drago e il Re, ma non siamo riusciti ad avere Damian Lewis quindi abbiamo ingaggiato Josh Holloway, è lo stesso per te?" sarei immensamente motivata a finire il libro. Inoltre l'entusiasmo generato dalla serie è molto positivo per la franchise, direi. Ci saranno molti nuovi lettori, e molti di più chiederanno ADWD a gran voce. The other night I froze while watching tv at friends' and realizing there's an actor out there who fits the requisites posted below, and who would totally RUIN Bryn for me, not because of him, poor guy, but because of certain associations. Of course, maybe with a beard and his admittedly great acting, he'd make me fall in love even more than I am already, like Jeff Fahey - Frank Lapidus did. Who knows. (I'll reveal who The Actor Who Must Not Be Named is after they cast as Bryn someone I'm not scared of. If ever.) Also, I tend to superimpose my view of the character with the actor playing him. It happens even with my fictional characters: I modelled King Theodoric on Damian Lewis, but the mental image I have of him is slightly different. I could not say how, I just see someone who is his own person, separate from the actor, like, say, Mandela and Morgan Freeman. BTW, I haven't been so excited since the LOTR trilogy and the HP movie saga (ongoing, but not so exciting anymore). Now I only need to find my ASOIAF Faramir... And I'd have him already, if only they cast some guy I like! I don't think GRRM is wrong in concentrating on the TV series. First, we don't know how he divides his time between ADWD and the series. And then, he might find new inspiration to finish ADWD. I mean, if they told me "We're making a movie on Dragon and the King, but we could not get Damian Lewis so we got Josh Holloway instead, is it the same for you?" I'd be enormously encouraged to finish the book. Also, the buzz generated by the series is very positive for the franchise, I think. More people will read the books and more people will clamour for ADWD. I really hope GRRM gets his enthusiasm back and gives us the rest of this great saga, even though I know it will break my heart. |
