PAINT IT BLACK

Qualche tempo fa mi lamentavo che non avevo una buona canzone per Starscream, e pensavo che i Metallica erano una buona fonte. Infatti "Until it Sleeps" è perfetta (non solo per Starscream). Ma poi mi sono resa conto che potevo cercare anche fra i Rolling Stones.

Sarebbe anche una canzone fantastica per Sirius (e Tonks). Duh. Scommetto che un milione di fangirls ci hanno già pensato. Questo non mi impedirà di provarci quando saranno stati fatti tutti e 7 i film di HP - e se imparerò a usate Windows Movie Maker o simili.

In effetti Starscream ha molto in comune con Sirius. "One took the high road and one took the low road", per citare "Loch Lomond" (così vi beccate 2 canzoni al prezzo di una... e godetevi l'accento scozzese), ma condividono la stessa disperazione, almeno nelle mie storie. Sembra che io abbia 2 tipi di eroe: il Bravo Ragazzo Tormentato (Optimus, Remus - ehi, fanno rima!) e il Folle Tormentato. Questa mattina, tuttavia, è successo qualcosa di curioso. Stavo pensando a un dialogo Opti-Screamer, e dato che io provo le mie scene ad alta voce (sul serio!), l'ho chiamato Aelfwine invece di Starscream.

Meno male che non eravamo a letto assieme.

Direi che Teodorico è il Folle Tormentato nella saga del Drago, ma in realtà Aelf è molto più complesso, perché passa da Bravo Ragazzo a Bravo Ragazzo Tormentato a Folle Tormentato (a Bravo Ragazzo di nuovo... ma non lo sa ancora). Mi chiedo sempre se al momento non riesco a scrivere il Drago perché non ho ancora fatto il passaggio da Folle a Brava Ragazza, tormentata o meno.

Vorrei tanto che tutto questo significasse qualcosa.

Some time ago I complained I had no good song for Starscream, and I thought Metallica were a good source. And yes, "Until it Sleeps" is perfect (not just for Starscream). But then I realized I could also look into the Rolling Stones.

Though it would be a terrific song for a Sirius (and Tonks) video too. Duh. I guess a million fangirls already thought about it. This won't stop me from trying one when all 7 HP movies are made - and if I learn to use Windows Movie Maker or something.

Starscream has a lot in common with Sirius, actually. One took the high road and one took the low road, to misquote "Loch Lomond" (so you get 2 songs for the price of one... and enjoy the Scottish accent), but they share the same desperation, at least in my stories. It seems I have 2 hero types: the Good Suffering Guy (Optimus, Remus - hey, they rhyme!) and the Crazy Suffering Guy. This morning, however, something weird happened. I was thinking of an Opti-Screamer dialogue and, since I rehearse my scenes aloud (really!), I totally called him Aelfwine instead of Starscream.

How lucky we were not in bed together.

I'd say Theodoric is the Crazy Suffering Guy in the Dragon saga, but truly, Aelf is much more complex, because he goes from Good Guy to Good Suffering Guy to Crazy Suffering Guy (to Good Guy again... but he doesn't know it yet). I always wonder if I currently can't write the Dragon because I haven't switched from Crazy Girl to Good Girl yet, Suffering of otherwise.

How I wish all this meant something.
